Where do you start with this one?
So for a start we knew that VAR would always cause issues especially as it’s being supervised by SFA referees who are generally incompetent and based on what we’ve seen in other competitions and leagues.
But it really couldn’t have been any more hysterical.
Hearts got two penalties in each half both of which were legit and both of which were dispatched by the revitalised Lawrence Shankland.
Celtic on the other hand had a goal chopped off which should have stood via the head of Anthony Ralston and a stonewall penalty for handball by Michael Smith denied.
It mattered not though as a first-half header by Forrest and second-half goals by Giakoumakis, Maeda and Greg Taylor secured the win in a pulsating encounter which will be difficult to top this season.
Shankland also netted one in between his two converted penalties to secure a hattrick but that will be cold comfort.
Celtic should have had more and indeed a Liel Abada goal was chopped off for offside which would have made it 5-3 but VAR once again decided the call was legit which if it was, was maybe by a centimetre at best.
Whatever. We still won. We always do.
