Celtic run-riot as Rangers ripped apart.

Celtic’s hot streak of relentless attacking football continued as Glasgow rivals Rangers found themselves the latest to be put to the sword on Saturday.

We suffered an early setback with Kyogo having to leave the field of play in the opening minutes due to a shoulder injury which resulted from standard thuggery from John Lundstrum.

Giorgos Giakoumakis replaced him and immediately clicked into gear.
Still hot from a 9-0 massacre of Dundee Utd at Tannadice last week the men in hoops weren’t hanging about and last season’s Europa League runners-up just couldn’t live with our quick throw-ins and freekicks.

Liel Abada is on fire right now and he opened the scoring in just the eighth minute as he turned in a Matt O’Riley cross which the despairing Jon McLaughlin just couldn’t keep out as the ball slivered over the line.

We dominated and got our second just after the half-hour mark as Jota latched onto a beautiful defence-splitting pass from the masterful Matt O’Riley and dinked a gorgeous chip over the despairing McLaughlin to double the lead.

Five minutes before the halftime whistle Greg Taylor who was imperious all afternoon crossed into the box and the ball made its way through a host of outstretched limbs to Abada who duly smashed home through the legs of McLaughlin.

That was pretty much it.

Game, set and match at halftime.

The question was could Celtic repeat their ravenous form from the week before and keep the goals coming in the second half?

Well, not quite.

But the hapless Jon McLoughlin did his best to help and become a bit of a Celtic fan’s cult figure into the bargain as he passed straight to the feet of substitute David Turnbull who didn’t need a second invitation to stroke home the fourth twelve minutes before the end.

On days like this Celtic Park really does feel like Paradise and Celtic now look miles ahead of the rest with six wins from six games and an incredible 25 goals scored with only one conceded in the league.

Now it’s just the simple matter of Real Madrid on Tuesday night.

Bring it on.
